Community Development Corporation Board Highlights

Sarnia, ON – The Community Development Corporation Board of Directors met for its Wednesday, March 9 meeting where the Board:

• Reviewed concept plans developed for the future site layout of the 80 acre Park owned and operated by the Community Development Corporation.

• Noted that 80 per cent of the necessary studies have been done to date to award the Park with "Certified Site Designation" status. The goal is to obtain such designation for the Park in 2017.

• Was informed of annual savings in electricity costs to the Park of $120,000 due to its conversion to LED lighting.

• Was reminded that the 11th annual Capstone Competition will be held at the Park on March 24, 2016. The design project competition is an annual event for Western University's fourth year Chemical and Biochemical engineering students

• Was pleased to hear that a tour of the Park site and regional assets was organized by the Province and held on March 8, 2016. 26 site selection officials and various corporate representatives for foreign offices around the world, including Asia, the United States, Europe, South America, and Africa, were in attendance.

"The Park is a world class asset and it is fitting that it hosts such a varied and important group of industry leaders," said Chair Mike Bradley. "Obtaining Certified Site Designation status for the Park, as well as completion of concept plans for future site layout, will position the Park for future growth opportunities."
