Engineering Students to Compete in 10th Annual Capstone Competition

Sarnia, ON – More than 60 students from the Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering at Western University will be at the Western Sarnia-Lambton Research Park next Friday, March 20 for the 10th annual Capstone Engineering Design and Competition.

The event is an opportunity for graduating students to showcase their design projects to a panel of judges comprised of local community and industry leaders. Projects will be presented in one of three categories: Chemical and Biochemical Processes, Energy and Fuels, and Environmental and Waste Treatment. First and second place awards will be presented in each category.

Presentations are scheduled to begin at 8:45 a.m. and will continue until awards are handed out at 2:00 p.m.

"Capstone has had a profound impact on the futures of students and industry," said Dr. Katherine Albion, Director, The Bowman Centre. "The knowledge shared at these events goes a long way into shaping the careers of students and prospects for industry."
